It's not just that he lies, it is that he does it for profit.

That's good, at least he doesn't do it just to mess with us like some sociopath - he does it for a good purpose (to profit).

I deal with homeless, domestic violence victims and addicts daily. I'm not sure about other cities but the Phoenix-metro area tries to take care of those who either won't or can't. Unfortunately, a majority seem to be in the former. It's rather frustrating.

I guess that depends on where you are. With only medicare we were told that they would give her her first chemo treatment but they would not give her any more after that until a) the first set of co-pays were paid, or b) she picked up a supplemental plan to pick up the remainder of the costs on future treatment.

We did pick up the additional coverage but I was a shocked at the "pay or die" mentality. Out of all of the different health care providers we've dealt with in the last 6 months, only two, offered any kind of payment plan, or program that seemed humane to me.

My wife and I are not poor. We are the lower band of middle class. I can only imagine how this system treats those who are not as "well off" as we are.

Would they have been more forthcoming with the aide if you opted for hospice?

When my dad had pancreatic cancer, his stupid doctors made a point of telling him it was hopeless and helping him by giving him blood transfusions was a waste of time. Doctors in general are dumb and paid by pharmaceutical companies but hey are quite cold and thoughtless in these situations too.

We had insurance and opted to get treatment.

My first wife of 12 years died of ovarian cancer.

We had amazing health insurance thanks to my job and I paid $15 of the $400,000 bill.

Thank God.

Explain to me:

1. Why universal health care is bad.

2. If I didn't have great health insurance, why I should have lost my job, my house, my car, my retirement... which would only happen in America (counting the rest of the civilized world.)

3. What exactly was propaganda and lies in "Sick?"

Based on what I saw (the entire movie) there was some slight exaggeration but no outright lies.

Oh yeah, and I spent four years in Spain and received better health care there (faster emergency room care)and my current wife there had a partial hysterectomy where she received better care than my previous wife did with private health insurance in the states.

Basically, put up or shut up and stop just saying "I've never been out of the country, but Michael Moore lies because I'm a Republican dumb ass and believe whatever Faux news tells me."

She has follicular lymphoma which you can live with for a very, very long time. She's been through her chemo and her tumors have shrunken greatly. This is not a situation where you are throwing money at a hopeless situation where you have 6 months to live. Left untreated, it would have become fatal in maybe a few years, but now her outlook is MUCH better and her oncologists expect her to have a relatively normal life with continued treatment.

It's unfortunate that Moore's manipulative agitprop gives conservative morons another excuse to trivialize important social issues, but oh well.
