I was an avid Sopranos fan. Loved the show. So I understand the background to the scene. However, not sure why some find it funny. I found it (tense) then sad.

Are you putting me on? The girl got clowned with a pie to the face and you found yourself tense and sad?

In that show, anyone was likely to get killed at any time. I thought he was going to kill her at first. And then he was clearly upset about the relationship ending. So, yes.
Also, you're an idiot. Try talking about a show you've actually watched.

If you know the entire story that is not funny at all. It is crying sad.

Indeed. Because she actually did love him and he loved her. She was his getaway from the whole thing...he would take her on trips and just have a great time but even that is ultimately destroyed by his lifestyle.
It was a poignant and moving piece of drama.

The line between crying funny and crying sad is often only perspective.
of course, I get it and I still laugh.

Well I had no idea clown violence was so moving for you people, so I will leave you to enjoy your newage abstract drama.
I hope they treat you guys to an encore presentation. Perhaps with a compelling squirting flower to the face scene or something.

I think part of the problem is she is such an awful actress.
Yeah. I haven't seen the Sopranos but the acting in that scene is just completely awful. Amateurs could do better.

For someone like JR his public standing or Dignitus (from ancient rome) or public standing is very important. She harmed that feeling of respect he got from others and that is why he did that to her. She really didnt understand him
