Never saw the show before but that was a damn funny scene.
Imagine them both in clown suits and it's pure comical drama

This was the first and only scene I have ever seen of that show. How could the Sopranos be so popular and highly acclaimed with garbage scenes like that?
That scene was truly comical but was it supposed to be? Bitch got pied.

You should watch the Soprano's. It is an excellent show. If you knew the background to that scene you would understand things much better.
In fact if you knew more in general you would understand things better.
You see Junior Soprano is great at oral sex. But he's afraid if people find out he's a muff diver they'll think he's a poof and he will lose power. His girl tells the ladies at the beauty parlor, who tell Tony's wife, who tells Tony.
Tony makes cracks at Junior about going down and Junior goes to confront the lady.
And her cream pie.
SEE HOW IT ALL FITS INTO A TIDY PACKAGE? That is art.

Totally nonsensical. It has no place in a mafia movie even with a clever tie in. Bitch got pied! I will forever be prejudice to the show with that scene. Ridiculous!

It's an Italian thing, at least NY Italian goomba. They all publicly claim it's disgusting, but then all do it in private.

I think part of the problem is she is such an awful actress.

See there you have it. You think the Soprano's was a mob movie, rather than a compelling drama that sought to show the juxtaposition of a group of sociopathic career criminals who would kill at a moments notice...sometimes less, balancing a family life and an attempt to be normal. In other words.....a dramatized and distorted view of real life.
I used to deliver meat in Milwaukee. One stop was Frank Balistreri's place, where his wife would always check the order in. Her desk and office were covered with crucifixs, Jesus prints and various Catholic and religious gear. Literally there was more stuff there then in some convents. Meanwhile her husband was the acknowledged local Mafia boss, under indictment for at least a dozen murders and various racketeering charges.
That is what the Sopranos was about, the absurdity of their lives. The allegory of a big tough mob boss being afraid that people would find out he's a muff diver is simply a microcosm of that larger context.
