I started an operative, which seems more my style anyway, and am much happier.

Depends what you want to do. My main is an op.

Right now if you do WZ pvp an op is pretty much the worst choice because it is hands-down the worst class in Huttball by a mile.

The only thing an op has that another class doesn't do better is stealth dps. But that will almost surely be nerfed in the first balance patch. Unless they give ops more out of stealth dps and more huttball utility you will never be anything but a liability in huttball, which is at least 80% of the PVP you do as empire.

If you are looking for a stealth and dps class sith assassin is just so much better for huttball in every way.

Thanks for the info, maybe I should switch to an assassin to try it out. The whole reason I had picked up the marauder in the first place was because I thought it was the class with the double bladed lightsaber (assassins). But now we have 3 sith inquisitors in my group of friends already, so I went with the agent, though none of them went assassin either.

The op is a lot better in Huttball than my 30 marauder was already, if for no other reason than I can heal. I was keeping the ball handlers alive like a champ the other day, while we ran the ball in over and over. Plus, its nice having disables that aren't channeled - probably my biggest gripe about the marauder.

If you are serious about huttball I would strongly consider another class. Op is by far the worst healer too for huttball.

What you will realize after a few more hours playing is that op disables all max out resolve but none of them are very effective. They are all melee range and you get a big fat zero knockbacks or pulls, which are the trump cards in huttball.

The only time I ever use a disable on their carrier is if no one else is around and I can stun them in the fire. Because otherwise me stunning them is pretty much giving them a free score since it stops anyone who actually has USEFUL CC (i.e. a knockback or pull) from using that instead.

Ops are gimp in huttball because you have no knockbacks, no pulls, and your evasion skill doesn't even work on force powers. You are a gimp ball carrier and a gimp ball getter and a gimp ball supporter. You are basically just gimp at everything that matters in the WZ.

I still do lots of huttball on my op and I do ok, but almost every single game I run into at least one situation where if I was any other class I'd have capped or stopped a cap I just can't cap or stop with an op because you get jack shit for useful tools to do it.

I'm serious about PvP btw, but for the record, I despise Huttball.

I did notice that the op was very lacking if I was the only person in the way of a carrier and the score. I can see what you're saying. Guess I will try that assassin out and get my alt-whoring really going. Damn you Yuki!

Is PvP in this game any different than what is found in Rift, Warhammer, WoW? That is...is there anything aside from BGs a la Capture the Flag, etc.?

It's cut & paste job from WAR but with less warfronts, dumber objectives and more CC
