My daughter was notified that she has been accepted into the People to People High School Student Ambassador Program, after a briefing by the State Department she will spend 20 days this summer touring England, France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. She gets a couple of days living with families in three of the countries and she will earn academic credits. Her mother still isn't really sure about this, personally I'm thrilled my trips helped me quite a bit, especially in getting over my shyness.

I'm just happy she will be bringing American style democracy to all those underprivileged Europeans.

Sounds like an opportunity of a lifetime. Make sure she reads some traveler's advice for those countries, though.

She is an art lover so she should have a blast, I'm not really much of an art person but the security guards at the Vatican had to ask me to move along because I was staring at the Pieta for so long.
