You're still not answering the relevent question. It doesn't matter whether its a Tawainese company, an American company, or even a Chinese company. If the employees had a contract with their employers, its the governments job to make sure both sides honor that contract. Where is the breakdown?

From what I'm reading, it was a "promise", and not a contract. But then again I haven't been following the issue, aside from knowing that Chinese people will always protest if they think they're getting shortchanged.
