Tell you friend the first step in getting rid of this problem is to go outside and find out where they are getting in. Once you close that off live trap them and let them go outside. Problem solved, no one gets hurt.

Definitely a grisly video. Hard to be sympathetic when you realize the sort of damage these animals can cause though. A quick humane kill is a thousand times more preferable to the fact that the squirrel is probably going to crawl away and die somewhere with a crushed skull over the next few hours or days...

I am having the same sort of issue at the moment. I'm pretty sure I'm hearing squirrels in my attic. They have not, thus far, made their way down into closets / walls (that I can tell) but, on very cold nights, I can hear them up in the attic. Gonna have to hire someone to both find out how they are getting in and to get out what's in I guess cause no way I'm crawling around up there and falling through (little crawl space attic).

Tenkly your friend either needs new traps or to secure the ones in the video down; either glue, nails, or wedge it in with weights.
The trap flying upwards is why its losing lethality.
