I'm having a hard time thinking of a situation where someone deserved killing but didn't deserve having their corpse pissed on.

I come from the American Indian school where I honor the enemy I kill, even while I am doing everything to kill him and I may scalp him. However, I do not judge these men for their behavior. Pull the trigger or piss is just irony. Theirs was socio-cultural herd inculcated behavior. In general, it is best to not place yourself in a kill or be killed situation.

Native Americans believed how you died would be how you were in the afterlife. Therefore they mutilated their enemies on death so that they would be that way for eternity
They also did horrific tortures to their captured enemies
Its no surprise we nearly wiped them out
