Apparently it wasn't that important, or he would have been there...

Romney will grab him as his VP.

they are family friends.

Ron Paul is not going to get the nod so he does not matter.

Not sure why we have so much talk about someone that is just going to bow out.

He does seem like a decent guy I guess.

Two mormons on the ticket will keep many evangelicals away from the ballot box. Huntsman will be offered a powerful cabinet position (SoS I'd guess), but not the VP spot

They might take that route. I can see that being a strategy.

The polls show it to not be a problem though.

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-57358962-503544/fears-of-romney-revolt-among-evangelicals-appear-overblown/

cliff notes:

"But such concerns appear overstated. A Pew Research Center survey in November found that in a general election matchup, white evangelical GOP voters favor Romney over the president by a 91 percent to 6 percent margin. White evangelicals actually favored Romney over Mr. Obama by a wider margin that GOP voters overall."

That depends on Obamas campaign strategy. If he somehow manages to energize his base again Romney will need every little bit he can get

preference for a candidate isn't the issue, there's no question evangelicals prefer romney over obama. Where it becomes an issue is if they care enough on election day to go to the polling station

If Obama is able to channel the same excitement he did last time no one will be able to beat him.

Not sure that is possible but that is what makes it exciting.
