Times are more stable than ever before in the US, regarding conflict.

This is the longest we've ever gone without being at war with a country, the longest we've gone without an assassination attempt, the longest we've gone without a major change in the constitution, the longest we've gone without expanding, the longest we've gone without major unrest.

Some of you forget that you've only lived a fraction of our history.

wait, what?

We are currently still at war in Afghanistan, we just pulled out* of Iraq, We are about to go into either Pakistan or Iran, or some other uppity Middle Eastern Country.

There was an attempt to Assassinate Bush Jr.

Our constitution is being completely undermined in ways that it has never been assaulted before.

...

Your whole rant is complete BS.

Some times violence is needed to get people to act. We are in the corporate age where US Democracy has to figure out how they want the government to approach the new world economy. I think the most sensible outcome would be a balanced trade policy and reforms to campaign financing. We need to neutralize to large threats to our Democracy, the power of money and the power of foreign interests. Most everything else is secondary.

Even with your context (which is still dubious) I don't think that this is anywhere near the most quiet time in our history.
