That's great news. Any of you has the chance to make the history books and be the hero of some of the movies that will undoubtedly follow a few years after those events. Be ready!

From the 1860's to the 1980's, we averaged a presidential assassination attempt about once a decade.
Historically speaking, the people rally around such an attempt - and usually in ways that you can't predict. Reagan's assassination attempt gave us the Brady Bill. JFK's gave us the great society.
I'm not so sure things would be entirely bleak after such an attempt.

An assassination is highly unlikely.
A much more serious and realistic threat is for the entire world economy to go into a massive depression on a scale that would make the 30s seem like boom times.
Israel and/or the US bomb the Iranian nuclear facilities.
Iran retaliates first with disruption of Oil then with attacks all over the Middle East.
Oil goes over 200 dollars and countries already teetering (Spain, Italy, Ireland, Insert other small Euro nations), fall.
The snowball crushes the EU and US economies...Asia and other nations follow.
Things get so bad, martial law becomes the norm in EU and the US.

Times are more stable than ever before in the US, regarding conflict.
This is the longest we've ever gone without being at war with a country, the longest we've gone without an assassination attempt, the longest we've gone without a major change in the constitution, the longest we've gone without expanding, the longest we've gone without major unrest.
Some of you forget that you've only lived a fraction of our history.

We are currently still at war in Afghanistan, we just pulled out* of Iraq, We are about to go into either Pakistan or Iran, or some other uppity Middle Eastern Country.
There was an attempt to Assassinate Bush Jr.
Our constitution is being completely undermined in ways that it has never been assaulted before.
...
Your whole rant is complete BS.
