I have to go to the grocery store today, thankful for 4 wheel drive.  And thankful that I know how to drive in this junk unlike 90% of the jokers here.

It's not the drive, it's the tires. I'd take a crappy rear-wheel drive with decent snow tires over 4-wheel drive and crappy tires any day. People who think that 4-wheel-drive is the key to getting around on ice and snow are responsible for 90% of the mess on the roads in weather like this.

I remember that bout 8 years ago in the area..I lived in Mcminnville at the time..and people there have no clue how to drive in that situation.
I pulled a double shift at the casino becasue people could not leave or get into work..they closed down part of the highway.
When i finally got home..the one thing that stood out to me was all the frozen sprinkler systems that busted a water line..bubbled up like a fountain and froze. They were really pretty  .
I miss Oregon.

I wouldn't want rear wheel drive under any winter driving condition, are you kidding? If it's really bad I'd get studded snow tires, but seriously, front or 4 wheel drive >> rear wheel drive. I have decent tires on my explorer, so I am not worried.

Thanks Afio. Had to drive up to Oak Harbor today, About 150 miles total, and it was pretty good up north, icy, but down South here the snow is still going crazy. I had to not deliver to a couple of stores for fear of getting stuck in the parking lots. I hope it rains tomorrow.
I will have to work on Saturday but it better than driving in unsafe conditions
