Well he's caught on a question like that because he knows that there's no REASON to expand govt to offer servicemen support and help.

Pretty big gotcha though.

REASON is used incorrectly here. There are almost limitless reasons. Ron Paul doesnt give those reasons any value. He could have said as much, instead he chose to try to fib about past historical events. The mythical ron paul that his supporters pretend exists gives direct answers....the actual ron paul tries to confuse people with misdirections. I suspect most of his followers would have just nodded their heads at that historical revision and not thought twice about it.

Doesnt seem like a gotcha. Pretty basic question, Paul was just unable to give any reasoning.

I agree Loon. Ron Paul is solid on most things but he lacks the zing to get that across as crisply as he could.
I know age has some to do with it but he lacks a clear off switch. A speaking coach would work wonders on him.

He has some good positions and does well going into uncomfortable territory, but he would benefit greatly by getting a speaking coach. He needs to end his points with ooomph and stop running on like a 76 year old Ford engine.

He was less like that in 2008. His age is getting to him. He didn't used to trail off mumbling incoherently as much as he used to.

Everyone is so used to Ron Paul being spot on and accurate, that when he slips up just once (no matter how small or insignificant) it makes the National Headlines. That's the kind of awesomeness we need leading this Great Nation!

Ron Paul is soo effing awesome, a candidate we all have to support and get into the White House to Save America!

Ron Paul 2012!

its funny...before i went to bed...the poll on CNN has 41% of people saying Paul won the debate

That's always true. Most RWN primary voters take so much time to type cnn.com into their web browser that they forget what they were tpying before they get to the end of it.

He forgot about the GI Bill? He forgot about the government jumping into the housing market?

This is the main thrust of his ideology and he doesnt have that stuff down? After hes been running for office for 30 years and runnign for president for almost as long?

You should expect more from your savior.

Do you think the peak pressure point of a presidency is the early primary debates?

Seriously, what kind of party puts forth these guys as the only choice?

And Obama is running unchallenged? He was that good for the Dems money handlers? I do not see it.

I think it is cable TV. Ever since the country could watch the same crap we have had poorer choices.

Hillary!! was our last hope. But, after voting for McCain many times over the years, part of me wonders where we'd be with him too.
