Considering Islamists make up 90% of the Egyptian population, I have to wonder how the 'minorities' have gained so much traction in their government.
I wonder if Obama Freedom speech really was the catalyst that region needed. Since then the entire region has burst into Democracy wanting protests and Islamist have given way to secularists all over...

Umm, Indonesia is pointed to as moderate Muslim? The place where you get caned for spitting out chewing gum? Never heard that one before.
You are thinking of Singapore, and Singapore is not Muslim. It is entirely secular. Also they stopped caining people for Gum about a decade ago, and you can even buy gum there now.

All it really means is someone who thinks the values of Islam should inform and shape government policy.
On that basis at least 2/3s of America's gubmint officers are "Christists" too.
It's a term used so broadly it tells you basically nothing concrete about the person so labelled.

I would rather they have democracy even if we dont agree with it. If they pick a fight with us then fight them but we shouldnt meddle just because we dont like the form of democracy they choose.

If the wnner came from the "christian brotherhood" party instead of the republican or democratic party then id agree ith you.
These people rpresent a party called- muslim brotherhood or jihad or kill all coptics,
