They are pretty far down in term of gold production. So at some point they will have to be buying gold using some sort of currency in order to make such payments.

China and India both have purchased thousands of tons of gold in the last 6 years or so.
Just for this purpose it would seem.
China alone had a single purchase of 4000 TONS of gold in like 06 or 08 maybe even.

They are ultimately shooting themselves in the foot. This story is a non issue to me. bring on a little weaker dollar IMO.

Are you trying to tell me that gold is just a pretty metal with absolutely no intrinsic value beyond people liking its sparkling and an artificially maintained market price that was created solely by those who own large amounts of gold? Preposterous.
