Wow you are an idiot. You know he's paying capital gains, not regular income right? That means he already paid the top rate on the money, and this is reinvested. The lengths libs will go to...

Well, you completely miss the point. Yes, he paid the top rate for investment income. The thing is, the top rate for investment income is 15%. The top rate for people who actually work is 35%. Plus, 12.4% in payroll taxes. I'll bet a pretty fair number of right wing Outposters pay a higher rate than Romney. Yet, they will scream about class warfare if Obama talks about raising the capital gains rate. And, they will also argue that the folks who have been paying that 12.4% their entire working lives should have to take a cut in their payback, because, well, just because. Shared sacrifice, you know.

Nope...I get the point and don't necessarily disagree. If you want to argue changing the capital gains rate we can do it. It's the libs in this thread that are comparing 2 different tax rates, acting as if they were the same thing.

And the change of subject by those unwilling to admit Obama's charitable giving is lacking is really the point. Seriously you make 1.2 million over 4 years and give $2500 a year...that's pathetic by any standard. But some libs would rather change the subject than just admit it and move along.

I always thought the 14% rate was available to anyone who invests in our economy, my investments are taxed at the same rate.

Six million paid to just the federal government is a lot in taxes.

The Obama's lived on 247,000 a year and gave the rest to charity.

The Romneys lived on almost 18 million a year and gave the rest to charity. If the Romneys want to keep up with the Obama's, they needed to donate another 17+ million.

This is an odd way for people to try to deify their political favorites and demonize their political opponents.

What our troll always fails to point out is the tax Rommney pays in on already taxed money.

No it isn't. Not any more than any money is already taxed money.

This is the stupidest defense of capital gains imaginable. It doesn't surprise me that you and that other idiot are the ones making it.

Capital gains applies only to the GAIN you get on your CAPITAL. Funny how names work, isn't it? You arn't taxed on what you already have.
