Most schools don't allow cell phones to be used during classroom hours for many good reasons. The fact that you failed to come up with them just shows how impressively stupid you really are. As for the punishment, most schools don't start you out at a suspension for the first offense unless it's something really major. He's probably already been through the steps of warning / detention for similar incidents.

I work for a school district that encourages kids to use cell phones in class. We even have a SSID set up for them so that we can content filter the kids.
But since your brain cant think of anything other than "what it was like the good o'le days"..we will just wish you well flipping burgers.

Cell phones are great for kids. Its a safety thing and their parents can talk to them at any time. Just get a plan that gives unlimited texting and data because if you dont the kid will get huge bills

What do the "good ole days" have to do with it? We weren't allowed to pass notes in class when I was a kid, either.
