This is all posturing. Obama is serious about not letting Iran get a nuke so he is making a credible threat. He's also countering Iran's not-so-credible threat with actual action. The best part of this plan is it actually has a regional and tactical use beyond Iran which gives it a great excuse for being there.
Honestly, if you are against Iran getting a nuke, what other tactics would you employ?

Why are we dictating whether or not Iran should or should not have nukes in the first place? Much of their current technology has Russian and Chinese fingerprints all over it. Iran's first satellite was designed, built, and launched by Chinese scientists. Iran's recent flexing in the Strait was courtesy of Russia. I think its reckless and dangerous for super powers like the EU and the US to align against China and Russia with Iran as the battleground because in all honesty I don't think anyone gives a shit about Iran or the Iranian people, and that includes its leaders.
