I laughed at the news the other night because I didn't even know OWS chicago was still around. The cops kicked their asses out of every place they tried to go to. The best they're able to do is a 2 hour march once every few weeks.

Which is better then the Tea Party is doing nowadays. Haven't seen any tri-corner hats in a while.

Tea party is still around, it's just that the news only has a hard-on for the plight of OWS. It's a lot easier and politically beneficial for them now to make up police brutality or do a puff piece than it is making up illegal things the tea party did.

You would think the Tea Party would be in the news more if they were hoping to have an effect on the Republican primary. I guess they must not care which candidate wins.

The Dems co-opted OWS and blunted its real message and turned it into a big iSpoogefest at which point my support of the present manifestation of the movement ended.
At its heart originally, OWS and the original concepts of the Tea Party were not very far apart from each other ideologically. Both organizations now are manifestations of the political parties that assimilated and corrupted them and what the mainstream media wants you to think of them.

The occupy movement is just the tip of the iceberg and the most noticeable manifestation of the change in attitude that is taking place in this country.
I support the movements actions, but don't think protesting is going to do much good. The opt out movement will be what changes things, and it is quietly, but quickly, growing.

People need to wake up to the reality of labor based politics and labor power centers. OWS is great for what it is, but it won't matter as long as most people believe that you need to pay millionaires millions more to create jobs.
