Or...you could, you know, pay the fine and get on with your life instead of wasting everyone else's time.

I've already tried to explain it to you. Make payment within limitations listed on ticket - what does the ticket say? Probably what the due date is, where the payment is to be made and what kind of payments are accepted. If you don't make payment by the due date, ticket goes up. If you still don't pay, ticket goes to collection.

You're way beyond "a little retarded", dude.

8 tickets totaling $4500 in fines

you can do math, right?

i count $800 in fines plus $35 per ticket for collectins fees per code 2-403

Sec. 2-403. - Imposition of administrative fee.

Whenever the director of finance or his or her designee refers any unpaid amount due and owing the city, including but not limited to unpaid fines or fees, those assessed through Chapter 3 of the City Code, parking violations, building department violations, code violations, animal violations, unpaid charges for sewer and water services, and the like, to a collection agency or a collection attorney, an additional administrative fee of $35.00 shall be added to the principal, interest and late fees owed to the city.

also keep in mind that the fines dont include interest but are actual violation values of $400-$800
i never paid them because i was waiting for a day in court to see the fatass ordnance cop try to explain to a judge why he was writing tickets for windblown debris in the yard after a tornado.

I think what sweeney is trying to say is he got issued a compliance ticket for $400 and he can't see how that's allowed under the regs.

i think i said in the first post that i was trying to figure out how they can issue 400-800 dollar tickets based on that law.

Wait...you have 8 compliance tickets...totaling $4500 in fines/fees?

Based on your original hypothetical, I assumed you were reluctant to pay the $25 because you were worried they would raise the fee on you.

I'm not really sure, but I think the $25 fee mentioned is separate from any fines you were issued in the tickets as well (though the ticket may include the $25 charge in it). $4500 is probably worth talking to a lawyer or a city official about, though. If nothing else maybe you can get it reduced.

Are you sure they are "compliance tickets" and not some other sort of ticket?

If so, the other way to read that sentence is "a compliance ticket must be settled by paying the ticket plus a $25 administrative fee within the time limit." The ticket value itself might not need to be paid within the limit because they might offer delayed payment plans.
