When Gary Johnson was governor of New Mexico he used to ask himself "is this something government should be involved with?" As a result, during his time in office he vetoed more bills than the other 49 Governors combined.

My one issue is smaller government.

I think Romney has talked tough but that could easily just be politics.

It's pretty obvious from 2008 and this year that Romney will *literally* say anything to get elected. There is no way that guy believes half of what he says. Just tonight in his victory speech he proclaimed: "Without raising taxes I will finally get America to a balanced budget." Seriously dude stfu

Anyway, as to your original question, I would say "jobs" but that may be too broad a term. It's like saying, "The Economy." Yeah, no shit! We want a good economy ldo. So to be more specific, I'll say, "Turning around the housing market." I say that because, historically, as housing goes so goes the economy, and that includes jobs.

(obviously only a socialist would dare interfere with the free hand of market forces so I doubt anyone other than Obummer will even mention it)

The democrats should ditch the gun control issue. That alone would give them big wins in certain states

I'm not sure it would buy them many independent votes, and it probably would buy a number of GOP votes approaching zero...but I agree with you. Gun control is a consistent loser for the Dems and they need to just stop already. There are millions of moderate Dems in this country who are also gun owners. If you're going to go after something, go after something that isn't *specifically* Constitutionally protected ffs.

Changing our system to the Fair Tax. I'd vote for Ptilk or Poet or Bonk.

Not sure which Outposter mentioned it before, but I'll agree... I won't vote for a creationist.

That issue alone will keep me from voting for them.

So you won't vote for Obama?

Obama isn't a creationist.

I won't vote for someone who works against my right to marry and have equality.

I did once, in Chris Christie, but never again.

Also, why would creationism be a factor? (this is an honest question)

A creationist isn't swayed by logic. That is a scary thing for the most powerful position in the free world.

I agree on the war front, no more of this crap and less of what is already going on is what I want. Also, not going to war is something the President might actually accomplish, whereas jobs - not so much a president only kind of thing. The candidates' positions on Iraq (and Afghanistan and Pakistan and etc) (and UHC) swayed me last election.
