One Issue Voting

If you could only base your vote for President on one issue in this coming election (snicker) what would that issue be and who would you vote for?
For me I think the single most important issue is our trade policy, particularly with China. I am not sure any candidate will do anything but I have little hope for Obama. I think Romney has talked tough but that could easily just be politics. Although I think that he is the most likely to take the issue seriously.
It is a really hard issue to address obviously but balanced trade policy needs to be a major priority. One part of any approach will have to include a strong attempt to address the debt so that is also worth considering.
I honestly don't feel like any candidate would do much on this issue but I think it is a toss up between Romney and Obama.

Not sure which Outposter mentioned it before, but I'll agree... I won't vote for a creationist.
That issue alone will keep me from voting for them.

Many people are one issue voters. You find women who only vote on the abortion issue, people who only vote because Republicans are against gun control, and more.
This is why you see poor conservatives who might otherwise be liberal because of economic issues vote Republican every time.
The democrats should ditch the gun control issue. That alone would give them big wins in certain states

I had a "Facebook friend" who is a big government idiot. Who is voting for Ron Paul because of his stance on drugs.
You point out that their previous update bitching about it being difficult to get WIC doesn't really go with what the good Doctor wants to do you get called stupid.

Also, why would creationism be a factor? (this is an honest question)
I don't think we have had a president in the history of our country that was not in that vein.
I guess I just don't care about that issue.
