Define solitary... how little contact with even guards, do you get books or writing material...
as long as you have some contact and something to read or write... I could do it, otherwise welcome to heavy meds and a padded room when you get out.

No, it isn't worth it personally.
It would fundamentally change me as a person. I also doubt my sanity would survive.
I like me. No price is worth changing for. Imo.

Wait till they get a little older, then their existence will be one of the main reasons 2 years locked away starts to look attractive.

There's no way in hell. Those guys are seriously fucked up for the rest of their lives usually. I think 24% or a number aground there develop mental illness in the first 6 months.
They can tack on months and years to your sentence just for refusing to obey a command, and you will disobey at one point.
It dehumanizes you. You turn into a rabid animal. I don't think animals care about money.
Especially with no books, hell no.
