The problem is that so many people have had bad pizza made by people who don't know how to make a good pie.
Pineapple works best with a white sauce, a lighter white sauce. Apricots works fine for a dessert pizza, It would not go well with a Savory crust/sauce.
You cannot just throw anything on any pie and expect great results, it is an art.

OMG, nnanci and I both have the same favorite pizza. 
Pepperoni and pineapple is in fact the perfect combination of toppings on a pizza.

Cook it! You want it roasted so the juice leaks into your pie and the pie's sauce is absorbed by your dehydrated pineapple.
