If some crazy lunatic had shot Hitler dead because his wife left him, would that make the deed any less awesome?

if it had happened in china, his family would have received the bill for the bullet the day after the Chinese government found out, while they were on the way to the reeducation camp. it doesn't matter what country- treason is treason.

I wonder what would've happened had he of been a citizen of another country, say China, and released Chinese documents like that. Would that still be "okay" had this of happened in another country with one of their citizens, and not just a US soldier releasing US stuff?

He isn't charged with Treason.
And we really shouldn't be aspiring to be China when it comes to how we treat prisoners. We're better then that. The crappy thing about that means proving it.

Lets just all be thankful we have Obama in the White House instead of Bush. The inhumane treatment this guy would be suffering under Bush would have the left melting down all across the globe.

he's still alive isn't he? his family is still free, and not in a "reeducation" camp aren't they?
he will get legal representation, (unlike china) and will actually HAVE a trial. (unlike china)
bottom line is he is a soldier that violated the military laws and regulations that he swore to follow when he joined the military.
he will be tried and sentenced according to those laws and regulations.
as for the nobel prize bit? any respect i had for the non scientific nobel prizes was lost when they gave it to obama just for getting elected, without doing anything to actually EARN it.

I'm curious, what stance USA army has towards war crimes...if you see your
side commit war crime, are you obliged to expose it, or cover it?
From real life examples, its obvious covering is preferred, but what your
military doctrine and laws say about it?
