I have seen this same misconception explained. He didn't say Israel wiped off the map. It translated to the regime being forgotten in the pages of history. Likud sucks anyways.

Strange that liberals will work their spin on such a creep. What is sad is some really believe it.

There are three kind of liberals;
Stupid, ignorant or evil
The result is always evil but the intent is not always evil. Not that it makes much difference in the long run.

And after the Iranian nukes wipe Tel Aviv off the map... who here will rush to defend Iran's actions?

After all, Tel Aviv is full of Jews.

No Koneg- Wiped off the map was a NY times translation from the same CIA spy promoting today's news story.

It was the headline used on their own official English language newspaper/website. Hell it even says exactly that IN THE SAME ARTICLE YOU QUOTED to start this story?

Quote:

On October 26, 2005, IRIB News, an English-language subsidiary of the state-controlled Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), filed a story on Ahmadinejad's speech to the "World Without Zionism" conference in Asia, entitled: Ahmadinejad: Israel must be wiped off the map

So, what, the article is good enough to convince you that the ebil spies done d00d it, good enough for you to quote here, but it wasn't good enough to clue you in to what their own news organization said??

For the last damn time for all you apologists - their OWN web sites, TV and newspapers used that phrase. Western media copied them.

Yea, yea I know. Spies... and stuff

i'm less concerned about the specific translation of how they want to destroy Israel, and way more concerned about their material support to terrorists.

if they don't want their intentions misconstrued, maybe they should cut back on things like holocaust denial conferences and providing funds, weapons and infrastructure to terrorist groups fighting a proxy war for them.

All that matters is that Obama is going to let Israel attack Iran and then intends to back up Israel. He might scold Israel afterwards but nothing will really change, does that mean Israel is more powerful than the President?

Pointless... The people that choose to ignore and believe the false translations will do so at any cost.

According to garth iraq had lots of WMD too. except at the last minute with all eyes watching iraq the WMD were loaded on trucks and sent to syria.. Possibly iran too.

So its pointless to debate this with thm, they are practicing full on ignorance here.

that's exactly what i said in the wake of the Iraq invasion - i believed Colin Powell and others before, it seemed plausible at the time since Iraq had actually used WMDs against Iran in the past.

in this case, i don't care what the translations say - Iran's actions speak far louder than their words. although it's very telling who around here finds Iran's government to be more credible and straightforward than the United States.
