Apparently his strength was mainly mental. Once he lost his mental domination things fell apart.
I also heard that his swing caused some sort of physical problems. You cant abuse your body forever and expect it to last.

Perhaps it is the infinitesimally small difference of the weight of a wet oolie on your golf swing. Maybe he should ask his caddy for some lubricant when he has a tough shot and disappear in the woods for awhile.

Yep. I heard with tennis as an example that the skills of everyone at the champion level is nearly the same. Physically they are maxed therefore the key difference between them is in most cases mental
