Don't forget about those old people. 22% of the people not paying taxes are old people getting social security.
They should all be shot. Plus the 50% of non-federal income tax payers who are making 16k or less... they need to stop being poor.

If they are able to meet demand, then why should they hire in a weak economy?
They are also waiting on a Supreme Court decision on Obamacare as noone will really know the true impact of that pile of crap until it is fully implemented.
If Obama is defeated and Obamacare is repealed, I think you'll see a considerable change in hiring practices.

I don't know about big business but I know medium sized businesses aren't hiring like they could because with all the debate going on, no one knows if our taxes, licenses and many, many fees are going to go up, go down or stay the same. I'm thinking about opening another business but California is talking about more pollution control rules into place which always means a cost increase to businesses.

auto sales havent yet recovered to where they were in the early 90's
total construction spending hasnt yet recovered to where it was in the late 90's
Retail, auto and construction are your job creators.
Profits are hard to make sense of because they arent inflation adjusted and they include domestic and foreign profits. A hint of inflation + sales increases overseas + improved automation = big profits with very few domestic hires
