I've been dating a woman for over a year now and she has lived out of state that entire time. It is both easy and difficult. It's easy because when you see each other it is always an event and feels like an exciting vacation. Without the daily interactions, it is more of a movie relationship. It is more difficult because finding ways and means to see each other at least every month becomes a major pita, and daily contact has to account for time zones and work/commitment schedules for each of us. Also it is stressful in the sense that, with hard work and effort, she will be relocating here on the basis of the relationship, which we both know may not stand up to the pressure once she's here.
Most long distance relationships fail, and I can't say I recommend them generally.

I know what you're trying to do but you're just sailing another failboat over the falls. - imaloon1
