Long distance (flight required) is more of a fantasy... None of it is real.
Long distance - like nearest city 40 to 70 miles) is a big pain in the ass. You can see each other as often as you want but its a pain and might as well be 500 miles away. A 500 mile roundtrip flight bought in advance is a $150.. As much as gas. You can do weekend trips.
A 7000 mile ldr is insane, you can only visit once every 3 to 6 months. No point unless youre getting married or something.

I can see that most of you are still trying to figure out how to sow your seeds...
It's ok - a lot of you inexperienced 'youngings' get tripped up and fall into relationships that you can't control just because you are always looking for quick pussy...
I'm a bit older, been around the block a few times, got a few comma's under my belt notch. Don't give a shit about your judgements...
When you find the right person you will realize distance doesn't matter and that intimacy takes on a hole new level...

It seems like a way to have a safe relationship which really isnt a real relationship. Sure you meet every so often, rarely for little vacations together in the case of a couple living thousands of miles away, both other than that you live totally separate lives without the big downsides of living together or even living very close to each other.
This woman who lives on the East Coast suggested last night we meet in the Midwest for a date and when I said no she then said she was just joking. There are tons of men on the East Coast.

As for "youngings", I'm 46 and when I flew to Spain to see my girlfriend (that I went to HS with and met up with 20 years later) we sure as hell had "intimate" moments that were very special because we knew we weren't seeing each other for a month or more.
If you found the right person, she/he/it lives thousands of miles away and you're not getting any - something's wrong.
I'm thinking "she's" trying to hide a penis...
