I think he's trying to play it both ways.

There are no candidates running for President that want to ban contraception.

The government requiring health insurers to pay for contraception is as dumb as requiring them to pay for lubricants. Of course we're already down that rabbit hole aren't we? Why do we even call it insurance?

The sad thing is that you are so stupid you believe this.

Insurance:

1.A practice by which a company provides a guarantee of compensation for specified loss, damage, illness, or death in return for payment...

2.The business of providing such an arrangement.

Why not just have government provide free contraception and skip the whole "insurance" game? Ironically we are just inches away from government doing just that, and miles from anyone trying to ban contraception... which is what Obama apparently is basing his re-election campaign on.

Good luck with that!

Medical insurance covers maintenance and emergencies.

Contraceptives for women are often prescribed to address an illness. There is no way you can ever make a blanket ban on contraceptives. It is horribly stupid.

They can also be provided as a preventative measure for health reasons or social ones. Not to mention this saves the insurance companies money.

contraceptives prescribed for health reasons have always been covered by health insurance the same ways other treatments have been covered. Healthcare providers have been using creative diagnosis for decades to make sure their clients get contraceptives under their respective coverage.

contraceptives are widely available and affordable in this country. Even in cases where they cause a financial burden, isn't that when Planned Parenthood provides equality of availability?

We didnt get to that situation by electing the people constantly trying to make it harder to get contraceptives and defunding planned parenthood.

A similar stupid argument is that since taxes are historically low right now, why is anyone talking about tax cuts.

So now you agree that insurance should cover contraceptives. Got it.
