february is meant to be the hottest month of the year

23c that's a bit lower then a warm Swedish summer.
Hmm.. didn't you guys have like epic droughts the last 5 or so years?
I also feel a bit of sorrow for your weather because that means the chardonnay of 2011-12 won't be as good.
Incidentally the coldest snowiest month of our year is February.

yeah temperatures have been hovering around the low to mid 20s with the occaisional spike into the 30s. Its usually a cycle something along the lines of 23, 23, 28, 34, 40, 45 (storm) back to 23.
we were in a drought for about 12 years, i think they say it officially broke in spring 2011. So the wet weather is great for the environment, water catchments, general health of the food supply... but it sucks when i want i nice cold beer on a warm summer evening at the beach.

I bet the waves are awesome over there right now.

Where i live (Melbourne) is on a bay with next to no surf but the water can be beautiful and the sand is nice and soft. I can get to the beach in about 15 minutes from where i live so its pretty sweet to go down there after work or to spend the day down there on a weekend/holiday. I have to drive about an hour 45 minutes to get a a good surf beach. Bells Beach which you'd probably know if you know much about surfing is about 2 hours away.
