But above all else, what sticks out to me is that Guild Wars 2 is so clearly in love with the idea of being a massively multiplayer game. For a while now, MMOs have been convincing me that all I want is a mostly single-player experience with chat room functionality. Guild Wars 2 reminds me of the joy that can come from having this huge world to explore full of other people to team up with, and it does so without sacrificing any of the approachability or care for storytelling that other games have focused on. This is the revolution that we deserve.

With all the MMOs that have looked awesome and then crash/burned, are you really going to make this prediction?

I'm excited too, but I've seen how seemingly great games end up a few too many times.

GW2 is going to be a small niche game

The media beta was last week.

You can look at a lot of videos and see how awesome it is !

And the frontier zone that are similar to daoc are the size of like 5 planets from SWTOR.

if GW2 is small then SWTOR is miniscule

Yup, I don't play for PvP so it looks like GW2 will not be something that is for me.

How can they call it common sense when it isn't very common

No it's not.

Casual? perhaps, but most PVP isn't conducive to casual play. This is largely what makes GW different.

GW2 is gonna be huge. The lack of a subscription fee alone will insure it. It is the ultimate casual game in a lot of ways because you don't have to justify the 15 bucks a month because there is no 15 bucks a month.

I actually wonder how they plan to make the economics of it work. GW wasn't really a MMO. GW2 really is an MMO. Maybe they are planning on making all their upkeep money from regular expansions? Or are they gonna have an in-game store that sells advantages like a f2p model?
