Ok, so this will be my second build, but I really do not follow the tech so I am having some trouble. I have a few components in mind and a somewhat flexible budget.

These are the things I am looking at so far.

i7 2600k processor
Geforce GTX 560 Ti graphics card
Kingston hyperx 2x4GB Ram
Coolermaster HAF922 case

I really do not know where I should go on the power supply (how much I will need) and I know next to nothing about motherboards. I am also wondering about hard drives because I really do not need a bunch of space, but want to pick a drive that offers the best bang for the buck.

I have also read that the stock heatsinks on the i7 CPUs are faulty, and am open to suggestions. I have an Optical drive, so I'm not worried about that.

Alternatively, if anyone just wants to throw out what I have picked and suggest a decent build for around $1200 (give or take a hundred) I am open to suggestions. I just want something that will handle the next couple years of games fairly well.

That's a nice video card. I've been eyeballing an EVGA GTX560ti 1.2gb for sometime.

New stuff is always coming out. If Rhint went by that mantra the computer would never get built.

if you game, get yourself a solid state drive, use that for any programs you run.

get a regular hardrive for a secondary which you store music, movies, and the such on.

Use my case and power supply and you won't be sorry. The case has channels for the cable that rock and the cooling is amazingly good and quiet. Also, I have not had any problems with the stock cpu cooling unit.
