People mix up memories all the time. Someone tells you a story. You have a memory that is similar. /blend
Now you remember something that never happened.
I'm not saying Romney never intentionally crafts lies (because I'm quite certain he does) but every person on the planet makes this kind of mistake all the time. It doesn't really seem like he had much of a motive for this one. Why lie if there's no payoff?

I agree, even if he made it up,as long as he wasn't taking credit for anything him taking a little artistic license isn't a big deal.
