tornadoes have plenty of warning.

theres usually a really loud siren screaming at you the very first sign of a supercell or whatever cloud/pressure formations it is that create tornadoes.

ive been here, in chicago land, for over 35 years.
ive never seen a tornado.
weve had some incredible winds that made cyclonic dust clouds hundreds of feet high and and ripped up acres of trees
but weve had no deaths and not a whole lot of property damage.

how much warning do you have for earth quakes?

170 mph winds! Damn!

Luxury.

A few videos of what I was in the path of

A page all about that day and night of well over 82 tornadoes from Texas to Missouri

A map of the paths of the tornadoes in the central part of the state

I'll take earthquakes over tornadoes. People who had hours to prepare for the F5 in that outbreak were killed even in their own shelters. Winds exceeded 318 mph when it moved through OKC. 316 mph is the upper limit of the Fujita scale so had there been an F6 rating this would have broken into that category.

Ill stick with central Fl. where hurricanes are weaklings by the time they reach us, no earthquakes to worry about and a tornado once every 20 years or so!

We have had snow here as well as a couple of earthquakes and while it wasnt a tornado, there have been high winds in excess of 70mph before that destroyed many casino signs and other structures..

Central FL is mostly rural Jesusland though.

An F4 tornado still blows less wind on average than the usual ego inflated Californian.
