Its because California is like a black hole sucking resources from nearby states and its a supposedly the culture center of America. I liked it better when NYC was the cultural center of America.
Also California is all about image over substance and its full of hypocrites especially the people in Hollywood.
Considering were one of the states that pays more in taxes than we receive I don't see how that's valid. But then again bonk never cares about facts.

I grew up in Oregon and listened to people bitch about California my whole life.
Then I moved to California after college and realized people were just jealous.

Pretty much the same as Paul. People from the south, like my parents and etc, all speak very badly about California
I moved here back in December and wish I had done it 25 years ago when I was born

The west coast is a geographical marvel and anomaly.
The activity along the San Andreas fault line causes Extremely Low Frequency sound waves from the plate movement that literally travels thousands of miles.
While it is inaudible to the human ear it is still detected by the brain as laboratory testing has shown.
This low tone stimulates the brains pretentious zone triggering growth. Once a person's head has become fat enough they are hopelessly driven to migrate to Cali.
Cali is like a huge roach motel for the superficial.
Those poor saps deserve our pity.
