You didnt listen to him. Its clear many scientists are affected by religion especially Christianity. They hate God and love to pick fights and argue with people. Sad

Militant atheists are as sad as militant theists.

Move to a real state? Come to Massachusetts.

If I lived in liberal paradise, I wouldn't have anything to gripe about! Count me out, pal.

You were talking about moving awhile ago, I think you should move to a real red state. Have you ruled out West Virginia?

Oh hell no. If I moved it would be to another blue state. I was thinking near Stratton, VT or Lake George, NY, but I will probably stay right here in MA. My family is here and MA is beautiful and I love living in a very progressive state. Probably the most liberal of all states.

MA has my heart!

It really doesn't help any argument to paint with a broad brush and declare victory. It looks dumb.

Hatred of God and Christianity is very common in the US scientific community. Its the norm not the exception. They are affected.

Because you keep saying so. Yep, got it.

On a more serious note, I've not met too many scientists...but NONE of the ones I have met had any hatred of religion.

I take it, that to make such a broad generalization, you've known a few thousand personally enough to get their 'hatred' expressed directly? Or you have some survey information you're following? Something legitimate, with actual numbers taken from surveying real people?

I ask because the last similar reference I saw to that was pulled from a heavily anti-evolution Christian website, and they cited absolutely zero factual information anywhere that I could find on the website...anywhere. At all. Well, except Bible quotes (if you count that as 'factual information' since it is factually a quote from the book).

If you're not religious, it is definitely much harder and takes a lot more to not resent the religious population. How much life has been lost and time wasted talking to the sky in the name of religion? It takes good people and warps them into fanatics and xenophobes.

Religion aside, spirituality is a part of every person. Something will always need to fill that void for many people. I think many atheists do not understand this.

Most of the scientific community in the US is christian. But you said it once and according to the Rules of Bonk you are now obligated to repeat it forever until people get tired of saying you're wrong.
