Listened to a scientist on the radio today

He was really good but mostly he was just whining for more money for NASA. As if that was going to happen. Then he got talking about Chrisitanity, God, and creation and what made me laugh is he really sounded /affected  He probably spent more time reading the Bible than most Christians just so he could argue with them. Seriously he needs a new hobby. So many people who hate religion really let their hatred of it dominate their thinking lives.

Probably because religion is shoved down everyone's throat and free thinkers need to be better prepared to defend themselves.

Religions new reason to exist seems to be to pull humanity backwards, to conserve and clash with science at every turn just to keep what little sway they have over civilized humanity.. Religion is an anathema to man and should be dealt with like the infestation it is.

He obviously was affected totally. He spend much of his free time studying and preparing his arguments so he can battle christians.

The crazy lengths some atheists go to argue with believers is sad. The worst part is that they tend to just end up being really really bad theologians instead of really good scientists.
Scientists are always fighting for funding. They have to.

I think they go and pick fights with Christians. Their hatred of God and Christianity is intense. They should be able to accept that not everyone believes the same and they do. Have a live and let live attitude.
Many of the atheists here are that way too. /affected

religion is a fascinating topic.
the bible was written by primative people, thousands of years ago. its a look into their daily lives and thoughts. its a social study of an almost alien peoples, written by them.
just because some groups assign some form of mysticism and superstition to it doesnt mean its not worth a read. besides, if normal people knew more about the bible, they mght be able to explain it to their lesser brethren in common terms theyd understand without the hokus pokus getting in the way.
