Not too many years ago people didn't believe in Gorillas, Then they were proven to exist. Now most people believe in Gorillas.
When I was a drunk I didn't believe in God. In order for me to get sober they said I had too. I wanted sobriety. So I set out to look for proof that God existed. I found my proof and now I believe.
No, most people KNOW gorillas exist. It's not a matter of belief any more, it's a matter of fact. Belief requires a lack of proof, by definition.
