Pistols for wife and I
Saiga-12
ar-15
assorted 22s.
I'd like to pick up an M14. Might settle for an AR-10 though.

If it gets bad enough I need more guns than that, there should be plenty lying around.

I just like guns. I have been shooting since I was 8 years old. I love working on them, shooting them and just up keeping them. Plus my wife enjoys shooting with me. And I would love to be able to give them to my kids when they are old enough. I'm a rifle kind of guy. I love long range shooting, i like being able to reach out and touch something from a long ways away. My wife is too. I'm getting us pistols just for fun and for a side arm when I hunt. Shotguns are mostly for trap shooting and just general fun. The rifles are for hunting/target shooting and I love to have a bunch of all different calibers. Not a 1 size fits all approach. I mean I was the only 11 year old in school when kids were reading comics and stuff, I was reading gun magazines and things. Teachers always gave me weird looks. Was kind of fun. Its gonna be a family thing for us though.

I can't wait to read about you on CNN.com!

i'd like a nice M1A or similar too. i read an article about Korea flooding the U.S. market with them
soon. so wait a few more months. prices should dive on those.

The Korean ones are regular M1s I thought.

Or are we talking new production? I'd pick up a china girl (norinco) M1A if they were legal to sell in the US. Need to find a Canadian to smuggle me one in.

That's the difference between "may issue" and "shall issue".

New Jersey is a "may issue" state with respect to concealed carry - which means that you must provide a "good reason" to get a permit - and of course, there are no good enough reasons in NJ.

Pennsylvania is a "shall issue" which means that unless there's a good reason for you NOT to have a permit (prior conviction, domestic abuse history, etc.) then you can get a permit to carry.

*edit* and yeah, I have some guns and stuff and ammo and whatnot...

i'm pretty sure it's old crap. i deleted the relevant correspondences because i prefer to buy a new one.
there is a govt program though that will sell these surplus to citizens, if you're interested.
i deleted that too, but i recall that it was more interesting than the imports.

i prefer to spend a bit more and hope that the quality is better. i doubt any of these are huge bargains.

I'm all for freedom to bear arms but I would like gun safety classes to be manditory and gun safes or gun locks be requred.

Regarding the bold, it's called the Civilian Marksmanshp Program (CMP). Through the CMP you can get a surplus M1 Garand and some other rifles. It requires that you are affiliated with a CMP member gun club though, in general not very difficult to participate in the surplus sales program...
