Question to Dems: What Republican candidate WOULD you have voted for? Had the Republicans not been such dumbasses?

The Republican party polices are anti-middle class. I couldn't get behind any of their candidates.

Anti-middle class , anti-common sense ,anti-science.....I don't believe I could ever vote republican.

BTW:I'm not a democrat but I definetly left of center

I would be for any Republican candidate that actually cared about the economy and making sensible cuts in the government and wasn't hell bent on screwing over the middle class and poor to help the rich.

The nation needs a strong and sensible Republican party to function.

Huntsman was intriguing many months ago....but it was always pretty obvious that he was never a serious contender so it wasnt worth getting invested in him.

Its hard to take moderate, sensible Republicans seriously because they are forced off into crazyland if they run for national office. The Republican party cant put forward a not-crazy candidate for federal office at this time so the real answer to AA's question is...none of them.

I'd vote for Ron Paul.

Sure he's crazy but I'm more libertarian than Republican. I would have voted for Romney until I found out he would say anything to get elected and is just a rich douchebag who doesn't understand waht the middle class needs at all.

So it appears to me as well.

Eisenhower.

That's how far back you have to go to find me a Republican candidate worth voting for.

Ps - Huntsman isn't a moderate. He's just not a douchebag about it.

A moderate republican is someone like George Bush I who raised taxes when he needed to and was cautious in Iraq.

Him being cautious in Iraq was precisely why we had to go back a second time. Had Sr deposed Saddam the first time as he should have, it would have saved some headache.

We never had to go back in a second time. Saddam was contained. But that's a matter for a different thread.

I actually liked Romney and considered voting for him until he began his pandering. Now he just comes across as a guy who will say anything the people he's standing in front of want to hear. I strongly considered Ron Paul until I learned what a racist dbag he is, plus his policies are simply not workable in reality, as awesome as they may sound.

In any event, I'm more concerned than ever about SCOTUS so there is not a Republican out there I would vote for, at least until Scalia, Thomas and/or perhaps Kennedy retire.
