Intelligent Design - the Improved Model for Space Ventures

First, let's agree that humans as a biological entity are a terrible design for 'Outer Space' activities.
We are made of rapidly deteriorating, easilly damaged, disease-prone components.
We must use a cumbersome, wasteful and by-products-creating-of-a-nasty-kind fuel system to survive and grow.
We are unable to detect danger during half the day due to lousy eyesight and hearing.
We procreate in an awkward manner and the impregnated human becomes even more-so unable to elude pursers who are faster, stronger and better equipped to hunt her.
Those are just some of the issues.
Now, if we could design a Nouveau-Man that was composed of a non-biological material like silicone, used sunlight and water for fuel, emitted a minimal amount of (only) liquids as waste, had vision enhanced to see into the UV and IR spectrums, grew progeny from externallly ejected 'eggs', we might have the opportunity to then escape this world and truly be space-faring creatures.

If we design a human to conquer the galaxy the only thing I wonder is after all those changes will it still be human?

The moment we started using tools and fire we offset evolution and started to walk our own path.. Even more so because of the agricultural revolution.
People who use the term "it's not natural" well neither is wearing clothes, driving cars, flying, eating any sort of crop because they have all been tampered with by us and living anywhere but near the equator is very unatural.. Hell milk cows would not survive without humans because we've bred them to the form they are today.

We are one of the largest animals on the planet, and have managed to procreate awkwardly into the near 7 billion of us range.

Well its now nearly in humanitys ability to design the next human, homo superior. Many human weaknsses and bad designs can now be engineered out of the species with genetic engineering.
I wonder if the end result will be specialization and a huge diversity of different types of humans

Imagine us all without any damn psychological problems, diseases and every last one of us with about 200 IQ we'd advance society at the freaking speed of light instead of the drudging jog it is right now.
Genetics is without a doubt the new super science, I'd say we remove all ethic and moral codes and let the guys in coats tinker.
They served the first genetically engineered hamburger a few weeks ago, imagine it creating meat cheaply and without having to kill cows and without a shitload of pollution.. awesome.

Genetics is the super science of the future. It will totally change the world and humanity. For it to advance computer tech also needs to advance too. It wont be long now before the huge advances start to occur
Imagine genetically engineering plants with fruits that are designed to be easily made into fuel for vehicles. I remember reading a book by Larry Niven years ago and he came up with the idea that the race grew stage trees I think they were called which were basically rocket boosters to get a spacecraft into orbit. Simple. Easy. Powerful
