Trying to belittle the argument for a more egalitarian society with the jealousy argument is weak, especially when the problem if inequity is as blatant as it is. That's all it is really. An attempt to make it seem like one side is jealous mob of lazy peasants who want's free stuff because they're overcome with envy. It's a way of avoiding real issues.

To put it in numbers, according to the analysis, the top 1 percent of earners account for 20.3 percent of total personal income in the United States and pay 21.5 percent of all federal and state taxes. The middle 20 percent of households earn 11.6 percent of US income and pay 10.3 percent of taxes. The lowest 20 percent account for just 3.5 percent of income, and pay 2 percent of all taxes.
These numbers are for 2011. So from rich to lower class the rich are paying 2x more than us. But thats not fair?

Not to sound like a jerk or anything but when people say they arent paying a fair amount of taxes I'm not seeing where they are getting their numbers. Then again I'm not a financial expert or anything nor do I claim to know it all but I'd like to see how they aren't considered to be "paying their fair share"
Well thats great that you do taxes for a living. So does my aunt, and neither of you impress me. I dont care what you do for a living. Id just like to know how you propose that. Id just like to know how you come to that conclusion is all. Dont get your panties in a twist old man.
