Yeah, I know. But eventually, you will all succumb to an e-reader.
I passionately loved books in the past as well. Next to my desk at home I have about five hundred books stakced neatly in two bookshelves. I have another bookshelf in the living room with all my important fantasy. In my closet I have an enormous box of books I couldn't bear to throw out.
My wife is a reader and when we lived in Spain we had an entire eight foot wide, ten foot high wall covered floor to ceiling with books.
And now I have three hundred on my iPhone/iPad.
I have an entire library at my fingertips that takes up less than the space of one book. And if I want more, I can read reviews, know I'm not buying crap, and download it in under ten seconds.
I can't even read regular books now. The pages frustrate me, as does their weight on my chest.
Bookstores will soon go the way of the eight track tape.
The only people who disagree, don't have an e-reader yet.
But they will soon see the light.

From the time I was young I loved libraries, when I was in grade school my Mom would volunteer and come in and talk to the librarian. She would always know when I was in there because she would see a pair of shoes sticking out of an aisle as I lay there reading.

I just don't feel right without my books - but most of my reading these days is on my eReader. Typically I'll read a book on my eReader and if I really really like the book - I'll try and pick it up the Hardcover version of it. But I can find those online - I don't think I've stepped foot in a book store since I got my eReader.

I have an E-reader and I still prefer books in my hand, I got the E-reader simply for those times where the bulk of a book is not the best situation.

Is the weight too much only when you're menstruating or is it a bother all the time?

I got rid of my paperback book collection once i started reading ebooks. I even got rid of some of my hardback books. I now have about 3 dozen hardback books left on my book shelf. I only kept those that were worth money.
I do still love old hardback books and may buy a few more. A long drawn out project of mine has been to make a book. I am a decent artist and with a little more practice I may be good enough to make the book I want to. It will contain thousands of years of family lineage and short stories of my ancestors. What makes it such a difficult project is that I want it to be illustrated.
I have a few rough draft copies completed in pencil. I have been using mole-skin note books to practice in.

I have no rational or logical reason why i won't switch to an Ereader, but i'll resist it as long as i can.
I just like having the phyiscal book, and collecting them on the shelf. There is value to them that i don't see in a data file.

Books are on the way out but where advanced e-readers or tablets will really dominate is in education because they can also be vehicles for quizes, homework, encyclopedias, lectures, videos, and more.
I have so many books in my house it is ridiculous. They take up too much space. I look forward to the day I can get rid of them all.

I can see that in 2 generations books will be a puzzling eye turner. Our grandkids are going to go through school on tablets and not even know wtf a book is...
