Uh, if by "coup attempt" do you mean the dismissal of Bo Xilai? It's amazing what people regurgitate when they get all their news from the fevered masturbators at Fox, CNN, BBC, der Spiegel, etc.

I am not 100% positive, but I doubt any of those news outlets discussed Bo Xilai's dismissal for more than 30 seconds. I read about it here:

ummm, yea. If there was a coup, don't you think it would certainly be the hardline Communists throwing out the pro-Westernization types like Jiabao/Jintao?
Though I was speaking more to the fact that if/when this happens, there will be an essential news blackout. A blogger I read who lives in China said "the reason I'm sure there is no coup going on, is I'm able to post this message to you". He is probably right.

Considering Bo was thrown out (the event that prompted you to ask the question), any "coup" would be against the hardliners. Wouldn't that please you? I don't see what your point is. If no one knows about it, it doesn't count as a coup.
