Para-rescue are pretty bad-ass too.

Yeah, but Pararescue are Tier 1 special forces like Delta or Seal Team 6.

If I recall correctly, Tier 2 are Navy Seals and Green Berets and Tier 3 are Rangers and Marine Recon.

Marine Recon are tough alright, but Pararescue are a lot tougher. Marine Recon have tried out for Navy Seals and failed. Navy Seals have tried out for Pararescue and failed.

They all have different missions. Saying one is better or tougher than the other is ignorant.

I guess your saying our special forces are ignorant. They divided themselves into three tiers, according to their abilities and level of training.

i reckon the most crazy/interesting training they do is the psychological stuff when training them for being captured.

a good friend of mine was a clearance diver and before he was sent to the gulf he had to go through it. they are so good at it now that many of the participants actually feel like they have been captured. They have to actually "rescue" them and do a proper debrief in order for the participants to beleive they are free.

Sounds really dangerous to me but also extremely facinating

Sometimes it turns into headline news... we don't hear about it being faked though.

Has far more to do with weeding out "quitters" than with conditioning them to withstand capture/torture, although I'm sure that's part of it too. Before you get to be special operations they want to be certain that when they drop you in the pot you... Will. Not. Quit.

Ever.

Special ops units from all our branch's of service have their share of large scrotum possessing patriots.
However in my experiences the SEALs while not a true notch higher in skill, were definitely a few higher in crazy.
