Witness: Martin attacked Zimmerman |
Zimmerman doesn't come across to me as a racist. From listening to people that know him and talk about his involvement in community programs like Big Brother type stuff. But he does come across as a busy body and a wannabe cop, with a license to carry, to me, that's a recipe for danger.
His actions up until the shooting though sound a lot like how the neighborhood watch program in the community where I live operates. We've had a lot of break ins recently, my home included, so a watch program was started and the people that volunteer will simply walk around, and if they see someone they don't know or recognize, they will watch them to make sure they go from point A to B or in and out of the neighborhood. Then call in anything about of the ordinary.
So, something happened, between his 911 call and the shooting that I have no idea about, up until then, it sounds pretty normal.

i don't think he's a racist, other than his assumption that a black youth HAD to be committing a crime and was something to call 911 over, but no doubt he was looking to be a hero. pretty sad that fantasy cost Travyon his life.

Yes. The media focused on the kid being black and that may play a part in it but I believe that Zimmerman wasn't a racist, he was a wanna be and seeing a young black man in a hoodie gave him a wanna be cop chubby.

Just saw two witnesses tell Anderson Cooper that Zimmerman was not acting in self defense. Also the Sanford Sheriff has recently admitted that it sounds like Zimmerman made a racial crack before chasing down and shooting the kid.

No law broken though ..
