Old country is awesome. This new crap is putrid. It's like Debbie Gibson put on a stetson or something.

Country music is what pop was 20 years ago.
Full of individuals trying to make themselves heard over the crowd noise.
It's not that it's great music, it's that it's bland and easy to digest...just like pop used to be. You can fill a country song with stupid lines that glorify anything you want, and someone is going to love whatever you are glorifying. Booze, wife being a whore, dog dying, truck gets you pussy.....those are themes that hundreds of millions of Americans can relate to.
The same can't be said for whoever the hell is currently popular in non-country pop music. Gaga? That hot chick who was married to that crazy UK dude? Hip hop? No.....
Country is the last bastion for the "I take care of myself and no one helps me cause I get a SSI check every damn month bitch" crowd.
