What are the odds that you would see something like this happen in your country? 1 in 100? 1000? 10k? 100k? 1m?
Here the odds are one to one for experiencing something like that which most of of us Americans know, for when you are in the wrong area at the wrong time. This is why when you talk about how wonderful certain aspects of your country is in contrast to others and how if we would only adopt your systems, how life would be utopia for us as well. When make those claims or allusions to them, you demonstrate that don't know what you are talking about because you don't understand the stark national & regional differences. Certain kinds of systems need certain behaviors from the general populace to make & keep those systems sustainable. I've tried to clue you into this fact several times before but now you see one of the stark examples of why.
And in case you are reluctant to admit it because you think that this is just a newer generation thing, no it is not. The only major difference is now the technology is so cheap as to allow virtually anyone to record their exploits to brag about them to their peers. I've known from a very young that walking through the wrong area at the wrong time would put me at grave risk of robbery and assault.
And speaking of bragging, what did you think the reasons were these people would record their own behaviors and commentaries? Behaviors that you and I both know are completely wrong headed but yet they did it anyway. What does that tell you about them? About their mindsets, about their cores? Did you hear anything resembling shame? Remorse? Concern?
Beginning to sink in yet?

I'm not seeing racism. I'm seeing a bunch of ignorant idiots who need to go to jail. I can say this because those guys didn't see a white guy. They saw an easy target to exploit. They've done it to their own people, regardless of race, if the victim looks like an easy mark.
I mean, who but an ignorant fool video-tapes his own crimes? Hopefully, they'll be brought to justice.

The guy was from out of town and celebrating St. Patrick's day. Was drunk and got lost after leaving the bar he was at. Bad thing is, all of it happened outside the downtown Baltimore courthouse.
